“Like Us, Lovers” is an animation film (16 minutes) about two fathers who meet after their kids were involved in an accident. One is insecure and unhappily married, the other is divorced and unemployed. Both represent different extremes of masculinity, but together they form an alliance. Dotan Moreno, the film director, creates and lives in Haifa. His first film, “Shock,” based on Sami Bardugo’s story, addressed silenced Mizrahi identity and won the Animation Film Award at the Jerusalem Film Festival in 2014 and the Assif Animation Festival in Tel Aviv in 2016. His new film “Like Us, Lovers” premiered at the last Jerusalem Film Festival, this is the second screening of the film. The audience is invited to come for a screening followed with an open conversation with Moreno.
